National Fresh Squeezed Juice Day

Agricultural Research Service, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons
National Fresh Squeezed Juice Day is on January 15th in the United States.

Juice, in this usage, refers to juice that has been obtained by squeezing fruit or vegetables. Such is easy enough to buy in the shops pre-squeezed in cartons, but in such cases, it may be concentrated, processed or have additives included in the final product.

Freshly-squeezed juice does not tend to have the shelf life of the carton versions of the drinks, but it is what it claims to be; juice that has been freshly squeezed. In such a case, the juice would be squeezed, or otherwise obtained, for maceration is an alternative method, from the fruit or vegetables in question for immediate serving and consumption, or other immediate use, such as in a smoothie.
